SUCCESS OF THE PECOS FILL ELTEATRO GAYARRE

Monday, February 28, 2011 - 04:00 h

The Pecos filled yesterday afternoon Pamplona Gayarre Theatre in a concert for which they were sold out several days ago. The brothers Javier and Pedro Herrero Pozo (Madrid, 1960 and 1962) returned to remember the songs they made famous in the 70's, as Tell me about yourself, Chords, Souvenirs, Lord ... The Pecos, which brought together 1,200 people in the room Noboa de Tudela in late January. Shortly before that concert, Javier, the "blonde" of the Pecos (right in photo) noted that the group's songs, despite having served more than 30 years, "still fresh. By washing a little face on a musical level, they are still valid "

The brothers Francisco Javier and Pedro José Herrero Well, the blond and brown, or what is the same as Los Pecos remain in the gap with these ten albums and two compilations that support its 33-year career. The duo, one of the most emblematic that has emerged in English music, are architects of songs held in popular memory as part of the memory of a generation.

Tickets go on sale Monday with prices of 35, 30, 25 and 20 euros, depending on the seat in the stalls in front amphitheater amphitheater stage and second floors, respectively. Pecos is clear that owe their musical success to women, which was commissioned in his day turn into a real social phenomena in the closing stages of the 70's and early 80's. When Pecos were released on the market the English musical scene was dominated by melodic solo as Julio Iglesias, Camilo Sesto, Pablo Abraira and José Luis Perales. Javier and Pedro took to the musical adventure with the prospect of covering a sector female adolescent audience largely in line with the trend set by Miguel Bosé on his first professional stage. Hope (1978) was his first debut single and stayed for four weeks at number one on the charts. Juan Pardo That same year produced his first LP, Concerto for adolescents, which swept through part of the song chords. A year later came the too successful a couple of hearts, before the break for the military and that Magically that it would not have much repercussion. Now the duo Madrid is in the ring after a source of tenderness and its newest luxury box with book and double CD + DVD, A History.

"We have nothing to do with this image of ribbons that put us"

After 34 years on stage and eight million albums sold, the duo by brothers Pedro and Javier made another tour of Spain
Pozo Javier Herrero
Cantante de Los Pecos - What has led them to boost your career now?
-

We are not returning to the stage or the world record, we have 35 years at the bottom of the barrel. What we're doing now is a winter tour in theaters, which we have never done, and we are delighted with the response from the public. When we have no record or new songs do not usually appear in the media, but that does not mean they do not keep working and touring. Every summer we have concerts. Let alone singing, between 1986 and 1992. But then we have not gone before.

-bet at this stage the most intimate contact with the public ...

-
Yes Most news is that we are closer to the people because the venues are smaller. We're used to playing arenas or places much larger than a theater or auditorium winter. Now we notice that people are much closer to us and lives differently. During the two hours of action we want the public to hear our songs, to sing with us and that everything is a party. People forget the problems that we all have. "They
hanging the sign of 'no ticket' in concert, one more reason to continue.
- Fortunately yes. People still love us a lot and who attend our performances, so we are delighted.
- Are you preparing new songs for renewing the repertoire?

Lleida concert act The Pecos Lugo in the April 3 return of the Pecos

The Pecos act in Lugo on April 3

Writer on February 24th, 2011
The concert will be held at the Auditorio Gustavo Freire at 22:00.
"The 60 correspond to the period of two young children from Madrid that will soon show the world their musical talent. Will be back in the 70, in 1977, when the duo debut as a professional and recognized artists in the name of Pecos.Su first success, in that same year, called "Hope" single as part of their first album, "Concert for Teens," published in 1978. A guitar, talent and dedication are their only weapons.
Thereafter, they begin to sell huge quantities of records. The lives of the very young brothers, Pedro José (15 years) and Francisco Javier (with 17), change radically and become a social phenomenon and one of the largest groups of English music. Its success is continued, with "A couple of Hearts" (1979) and "Always Pecos" (1980) consolidated his popularity and talent as musicians. It is the time where they sell more records than anyone in the flood of fans besieging them and employers that they are disputing.
But all is not plain sailing in 1981, his career is postponed as a result of military service, have them removed from their fans for three years. But during that period, the duo is off as it published a new album in 1982: "20 Years." With him his effort is rewarded again with multi-platinum, having reached the figure of 400,000 copies sold.
After the military, with his return in 1984 and the hand of his producer and good friend Juan Pardo, draw on sale "Magically".
Although the album is successful, does not reach the heights of work past because it tastes and then fans had evolved over time. In 1985, the CBS, the producer of House life, published a compilation of his hits which includes 8 tracks. Would be the beginning of an unexpected end, as in 1986, Pecos, the duo considered by his popularity as a phenomenon of his time away as meteoric as it emerged. And he ends an era.
In 1986 Peter wants to undertake the adventure alone. With "I'd rather fight" sealed his first and last job as Peter J. Herrero. Not surprisingly, in 1993, after seven years of musical hiatus, Pecos returns to the fray with "Thinking in you. "
Taking this appearance, CBS (now Sony Music), his former record label, published in the same year a new collection of old hits. Under "Pecos Gold" includes "The 20 Best Songs" of the duo. In 1997 Pecos sign again with SONY MUSIC. In early May 1998, the duo, through this company, publishes a compilation of hits. This is a double CD consisting of "30 Great success and a couple of hearts," and the first week that ranks among the biggest selling records of the country with 25,000 copies, and in late August 1998, becomes Platinum with 120,000 copies sold; for 1999, the collection gets four platinum records.
On 21 June 1999 hits the market the new work by Peter Harvey. "The Power of Your Eyes" is a musical that brings us 11 tracks full of freshness and style gifted Pecos.
In 2003 he published a compilation unpublished. This new edition demonstrates, once again, how the old hits of Pecos still above time and fashion. Under the heading "Pecos 25 Aniversario Where were you?", This double CD surprising collaboration with artists like Sergio Dalma and Juan Pardo. Alongside all this, a new theme, which name the album and marks a further and continuing musical career of the duo. "

I do not go crazy with the teenagers, who do not know they exist, but live on in the karaoke version and still have fans who have grown old with them and still follow them, because every time they hear one of those songs that sounded both late 70's and early 80's, rejuvenate.
The duo formed by brothers Pedro and Javier Herrero Pozo in its heyday sold eight million albums and won 40 platinum records. Filled with soccer fields and arenas, they yearn to thousands of fans who knew by heart ballads like Hopes, or Chord Tell me about yourself. The career of Los Pecos plummeted from there and decreasing considerable success, the duo disbanded in 1986. It was the moment in which Peter recorded a solo album, I like to fight, that failed to reach previous levels of popularity. After a time away from the music scene, back in 1993 Thinking of you, but almost no one kept thinking about them. After editing new albums followed, but with a minority impact. Only managed a hit when they released their compilation, 30, and a couple of songs, in 1998.
